For those of you asking what is pre-fall, let me explain. Pre-fall collections take place in the lull between the spring/summer and autumn/winter collections.
Pre-fall collections usually include more “wearable” clothes because designers want to save their “ohh” and “ahh” pieces for the fashion week shows. Translation: You’re not going to be wearing a couture gown to work, so these collections appeal more to us normal folks.
My favorite looks from the 2013 pre-fall collections were those with simple silhouettes, but eye-catching details. For example, a dramatic side bow (Carolina Herrera) and a classic trench with a wild print (Burberry Prorsum).
